Now at Palace the only person who actually showed up for games throughout the disastrous 2015–16 season was Jordan Ayew. He would make the effort despite many players not being interested.  Top scorer for us. He has my respect for that.

Idrissa Gueye put a reasonable shift in as well.

Week late with that.
A point each!

I'll always remember Ayew for an utterly pointless, avoidable, petulant sending off against West Ham.

Like all us during his time at the club, he never, ever smiled. Given how utterly shit we were that season and what he probably had to deal with in the background with ****** like Gabby, Richards etc. I can understand why.

Yeah tbh the fact he was clearly not happy is a sign in his favour given some of the gurning fucking morons we had in that squad.

About 10 years ago, when we were under Lambert, Palace got hold of all the Villa info with all with our changes in the team and our formation. They had the starting 11 line up, and that before kick-off.
Apparently Pulis' Crystal Palace did it the week before against Cardiff.
Later in the season they were found guilty of that offence against the welsh club. And were fined.
Why no points deduction?
And why didn't Villa make more of it too?
Shocking.

Think we'll be o.k in this one. Palace are tough to beat but they are really struggling upfront, Mateta was also attempting to finish v Liverpool. Zaha could be back but doubt he'll last 90 minutes if they start him.

Usual fast start infront of the Holte and goal after 10 minutes and I'll go for a 3-1 win.

Not sure how much I've seen Jordan smile at Palace either, in fairness. He just has one of those frowny faces. I do too, so can empathise.

The Guardian's "10 things...." Premier League preview has ignored us again. Both pre and post match entries for the Woolwich and Everton games were entirely focused on our opponents, and this week's preview is all about Palace.

Monday will probably bring about the half dozen.

I'm feeling mildly optimistic for this game which usually results in being let down. Don't put a downer on my weekend please Villa.ì

He reminds me of the one out the Anthill Mob who always burst into tears.

I tend to find games against Palace a bit of a chore. Only a few really stick out, like that one under Gregory. Last year's home one, with the whole European Cup celebration, was turgid. I saw a load of the '82 squad coming out if the ground though, so that was good.
