Cash wasn't great in the first half, but then none of them were really.

It was much better when Buendía came on for Bailey, but I thought McGinn was out best player today. Nearly all the good things we did stemmed from him so well done to him today.

From where I was in the obstructed view seats, a lot of people thought our second had gone into the side netting so was very pleased when Emi ran away celebrating.

Yeah, it was the mad way it bounced out. Hit the stantion at the back of the middle of the net.

Yes, very poor match from both teams overall but 3 points and we’ve stopped the rot so, really pleased about that. Thought Ollie was mom today. Good penalty and relentless running.
Still a bit worried about the amount of yellow cards Martinez is getting and, if he doesn’t stop this time wasting, I’m fairly certain he will get sent off soon.

He's on 5 for the season so far. Am I right in thinking one more and he gets a one game suspension? That's also a very powerful argument for cutting it out.

He won’t get suspended til he gets 10.

No we’re up to 10 bookings now (unless there’s a different rule for goalkeepers I’m not aware of!)

I thought Cash was excellent second half, and Dougie really put in a shift today, won a lot of tackles in there

Jordan Pickford has the sort of face you'd expect to see in 1943 newsreels on a British soldier, flashing a near-toothless grin as he fries an egg on the top of his tank just outside Torbruk.

That's a brilliant description of him, made me chuckle.

Great result - pretty shit first half - but beundia change the game.

Thought that Ramsey and McGinn did well and were the right call to start.  Ramsey running with the ball was good and hopefully he’ll play himself back into form.

Watkins was good - slightly disappointed by luiz and Kamara - as thought they should be able to run this game

Burnley sold Dwight McNeill for about 25m in the end didn't he....

As poor as Bailey has turned out he's at least done stuff in Cl and Bundesliga. Wonder if Ajax are still interested.

McNeill had Cash on toast, first half at least, got 5 or 6 good crosses in.

That's Everton's problem, even if they get the crosses in, there's nobody to get on the end of them.

They should have kept Duncan Ferguson around.

They should have bought Danny Ings with the Gordon money.

They couldn't as Ings was sold about a week before Gordon

It is astonishing how they thought they'd ease themselves out of the bottom three without a striker. Gordon's no great loss but it's what'll get them relegated.
Well, not doing anything with the Gordon money will do. As Pauliewalnuts said, they should've been in for Ings straight away - Ings + £25m to spend for Gordon seems a decent bit of business for where they are. More likely to keep them up until the new stadium's built anyway.

A typical scrappy Dyche kind of game. Both teams had their moments without looking convincing.

If Watkins had any sort of football iq he'd be top 4-class, the fact he takes 5 or 6 touches before deciding what to do with the ball is frustrating to watch and repeatedly kills our momentum. Bailey was shocking (again) and the game was screamng out for Buendia's guile and craft, which he duly delivered as soon as he was brought on. Ramsey and McGinn had their best games in a while.

A pleasing win, 10 points off the third bottom team.  We need a big summer and that's what Purslow said he's expecting.  Lovely goal from Buendia and good see see Ollie netting again.

"!0 points off the third bottom team" is such a strange way to describe our league position, given we're 4 points from the European places.  I get we've spent the best part of a decade generally looking down rather than up, but surely it's time to change a little now?

The voting on the BBC Sport website gave Player of the Match to John McGinn. I thought he did well enough but does look quite match fit yet since his injury.

He’d get my vote

If we could play Everton every week we’d be champions!

I said that earlier and for that reason alone I’m happy for them to stay up! W Ham on the other hand would be a great addition to the Championship
