From the super manager:
We gave away two soft goals otherwise it was a solid performance. We had the feel of the game and were in control. There were some key moments and we didn’t finish with conviction. There were lot of good things today.

I know they have to say something, but when you lose, the good things don't mean anything, do they?

Jordan Pickford has the sort of face you'd expect to see in 1943 newsreels on a British soldier, flashing a near-toothless grin as he fries an egg on the top of his tank just outside Torbruk.

Burnley sold Dwight McNeill for about 25m in the end didn't he....

As poor as Bailey has turned out he's at least done stuff in Cl and Bundesliga. Wonder if Ajax are still interested.

McNeill had Cash on toast, first half at least, got 5 or 6 good crosses in.

Until he has to save anything, and then he turns into Estate Ratboy whenever a police car turns up.

I don't dislike McNeil, but he's the kind of player you pay seven million for who turns out better than expected, not your marquee signing.

That's Everton's problem, even if they get the crosses in, there's nobody to get on the end of them.

They should have kept Duncan Ferguson around.

He does get crosses in early but most of those we just blocked near post apart from one Emi tipped over.

I just think he's a very poor player in most respects so surprised me how many people wanted to sign him when he was being linked to us under DS.

They should have bought Danny Ings with the Gordon money.

The voting on the BBC Sport website gave Player of the Match to John McGinn. I thought he did well enough but does look quite match fit yet since his injury.

It is astonishing how they thought they'd ease themselves out of the bottom three without a striker. Gordon's no great loss but it's what'll get them relegated.

Cash wasn't great in the first half, but then none of them were really.

It was much better when Buendía came on for Bailey, but I thought McGinn was out best player today. Nearly all the good things we did stemmed from him so well done to him today.

From where I was in the obstructed view seats, a lot of people thought our second had gone into the side netting so was very pleased when Emi ran away celebrating.

Yes, very poor match from both teams overall but 3 points and we’ve stopped the rot so, really pleased about that. Thought Ollie was mom today. Good penalty and relentless running.
Still a bit worried about the amount of yellow cards Martinez is getting and, if he doesn’t stop this time wasting, I’m fairly certain he will get sent off soon.

He's on 5 for the season so far. Am I right in thinking one more and he gets a one game suspension? That's also a very powerful argument for cutting it out.

Love it!

He would also make a very good actor in a Cholmondley-Warner sketch.
