Excellent read. A couple of years short of 60 and both sets of Grandparents and parents born and raised in Aston and Witton, I could relate to plenty in the book.Thanks.
Now have a copy, which is on top of my previous books to be read pile.
Lovely to chat to everyone who came to say hello and/or grab a book yesterday - Chico, 144 hard boiled eggs, Mortimer’s Bear, dorsetvillain, erstwhile H&V contributor Andy Wainwright, john e. Apologies if I missed anyone, I’m getting on a bit now.

They lasted until the mid-sixties apparently. He also told me about a pub with an upstairs room where all the local gangsters would go - Sylvia’s or Stella’s? - I think the pub might have been The Sycamore, either that or it was in Sycamore Road, or both!
