It’s more difficult to miss a penalty than it is the score
There’s loads of bad penalties taken that still go in, I remember Watkins‘s taking one in Lille He fell over as he kicked it but it still went in

Missing a penalty does take a bit of effort

Seems to come pretty naturally to us.

Think I missed something like 6 in a row at one point for my Sunday team.

Buendia’s pen looked decent enough, he seemed confident, but I’ve no idea what his actual record is from the spot.

He'd gone by then last night though, hadn't he?

He had, I'm thinking more for future penalties if hes on the pitch or the bench.

This thread makes me think I miss FV - but when he comes back I get fed up with him within a few posts.

I was playing as lone striker and think I'd won them all myself, but still. Can't remember but I think I gave it up rather than had the privilege withdrawn.

Donyell Malen scored 5, missed 2. His two misses were his last two though. One of the five he scored was against Villa kids so one thing I've learned today is that Malen was on Arsenal's books as a youngster, didn't know that.

That one last night was like watching an Under 10 take one. It was exactly what someone lacking confidence does, playing ultra safe.

I agree about hops skips and all that shit. 3 or 4 steps, then smack it in the top corner. Basic.

As I got older I got a bit better with pens, and found I was more inconsistent trying to 'pull' the ball to the keepers' right like Ollie last night, it would flucuate between being too central or too wide, and actually 'pushing' it higher to the other side was more controlled and more effective.

Apparently discounting shoot outs Ollie has missed 7 out of 13

It's easy to focus on that one stat, but look at the way he puts the ball on the spot. We've had very few players over the years who could do that. It's a bit lazy to focus on the outcome so much.

Tielemans is the obvious choice. I'd have got SJM to take it last night, he'd already scored and hopefully would have just twatted it in.

True, the way he puts the ball on the spot contributes massively to how other players are involved in the game and the overall result.
