Controversially - I’m not that keen on Burgundy - it seems to trade on its name at a premium price. For great wine that is similar in taste and structure, I reckon Stodden in the Ahr Valley, Germany is pretty close - but a fraction of the price. I am also a fan of Romanian Pinot Noir too, but think some of the German ones are starting to push into new territory now. Although I’d never say no to a glass of Burgundy… I’ve got a few locked up in the cellar for some day in the future
