Why not a surprise?

Clay court is not his favourite surface and his performances on the main tour on this surface has not been great this year, plus by pulling out of the French, he can focus on his Wimbledon preparations, starting with a grass court tournament next week.

I see Jack Draper has had to retire in his first round match due to a shoulder injury, sadly he's becoming almost as injury prone as Emma.

Cameron Norrie loses in 3 sets to Italian Lorenzo Musetti, which means after 3 rounds there are no Brits left in the mens and womens singles, not great.

One thing that's baffling me about the French Open. Whenever there's a close line call the umpire jumps down from his chair, points at the mark left by the ball and says whether it's in or out. Then you see the hawkeye replay so if they've got that, why is there a need for the umpire to jump down and do his pointy bit?

Djokovic wins in 4 sets, was a cracking match for the first 2 sets, but sadly Alcaraz was suffering with cramp from the beginning of the 3rd set and Djokovic won the last 2 sets comfortably.

Are we gonna see an Englishman win the Wimbledon Mens Singles Championship for the first time since 1936, no, are we gonna see someone win it, apart from Federer, Nadal, Djokovic and Murray, for the first time since 2002, quite possibly, Carlos Alcaraz aged 20, already won the US Open and Queens last week, no 1 world ranked player and number 1 seed.

As long as Djokovic doesn’t win all will be grand.
