Andy Murray played his first match, since the Aussie Open, winning a final set tie break, Alexander Zverev up next.

I've never liked Murray as a player (as a bloke he seems decent) but credit to him for continuing to play on and fight, after the injury issues he's had. It must take a lot of commitment and determination.

Never heard it that way round before Rory - often hear that stupid anti-English nonsense that he gets accused of (he’s Scottish he should be anti English but the origin with Murray was him being done over by a presenter) - but never heard of anyone not liking him as player, sure the screaming at his coaches can be a bit tiresome but he’s a wonderful player when in flow.  For me he is the best sportsman this country has produced in my lifetime…blessed and cursed that he played in the era of Roger / Rafa and the BellEnd

I find him rather crab-like.

Very impressive win from him over Zverev winning in 3 sets, now in the quarters of the Qatar Open.

Murray unfortunately has had to withdraw from this week's Dubai championship due to recurring hip injury, hopefully it is not too serious, also Raducanu has had to withdraw from  a tournament again, this time it's due to tonsillitis.

Jack Draper Britain's best hope, since Andy Murray, beats Andy Murray in 2 sets at the Indian Wells Masters. Good news for Emma, she wins her match in 3 sets, through to the last 16, where she meets world number one Iga Swiatek.

Very impressive win by Carlos Alcaraz, still only 19, in the final beating Medvedev 6-3, 6-2, now number world no 1.

Sadly more injury woes for Emma, has had to withdraw from the Madrid Open, with a hand injury, hours before her first round match. Now she is almost certain to fall out of the top 100, how the mighty has fallen.

I'm starting to get worried about this young lady - and I say that as a fan.  I'm also starting to question where are the parents?  Or the management team or anyone that's in charge and running the show?   She's gone through a bunch of coaches, doing countless endorsement opportunities and meanwhile she's played ten matches this year.  TEN - a third of the year has passed already!

Not good news for the top players, following the news that travellers to the States will no longer need to be vaccinated against Covid, Djokovic will be able to play in the US Open.

Good to see Andy Murray winning his first title in nearly 4 years, beating Tommy Paul in 3 sets, not a main ATP event but a win's a win. Now up to 42nd in the world, he's looking to get into the top 32, so he will be seeded for Wimbledon.

Not surprisingly Nadal will miss the French Open, says he believes 2024 will be the last year of his career.
