Brummie Reds

Easily the worst people on the planet. If we had kids I'd prefer them to be Blues fans; we might have fucked up royally bringing them up but at least they'd have soul.

As ever, Ron Atkinson's assessment of the man is spot on: "A grizzling old misery. A dour and distant individual."

If you think SG had fucked around with our captaincy it's nothing compared to what that united manager did today. Surely he must qualify now as a tory minister with that decision

Is this what it’s like to have a proper coach?
Movement off the ball, moving the ball quickly when on it, tactically spot on and subs that killed the game. Loved the way the ref kept rushing Martinez with his goals kicks second half, the booking was appalling but what’s new? Also a lovely bit of defending by him when we were the counter.
Sky will be a sad place tonight.

Unbeaten against these for 3 matchin the league. When could we last say that?

Amazingly under 3 different coaches.

A cracking well deserved result. We looked them firmly in the eye and wiped the floor with them. We deserved the clean sheet if it wasn’t for that lucky deflection for them. Mings and Watkins a colossus for us with Luiz and Bailey not far behind! Everybody did their jobs well. 1 game is all it took for Emery to defeat a sly 6 team!
I loved the high defensive press. All our goals were quality. Our fans were awesome! What a day, what a win! Emery already creating history for us!

Hard to name the best performances, there was a lot on show out there today.  Watkins instrumental in two goals, Dendoncker's passing was really measured, he looked a very stable influence alongside Luiz, Bailey did what I hoped he is capable of on a more regular basis, the run and shot at the start of the 2nd half was cheeky and showed loads of confidence.  Good to see Kamarra.

There was a link between the lines today which has been missing, the defenders were able to move the ball to the midfield more easily, playing out from the back was nowhere near as terrifying as it has been.  Similar;y the midfield was overlapping to draw defenders off of the front 3.  Almost as though there was a plan of how to play...  Excellent.  Please, please, please could we do the double this week?  Onwards in the cup and I think the whole Villa camp will be a happier place.

What a great display, as a season ticket holder that was mightily impressive. Good to see Sanson on if only for a couple of minutes, and of course, a big welcome back for Bouba Kamara!

That was shockingly good. Shocking. The contrast with last week, with the last thousand weeks, is mental.

Great win but to be honest, we played equally well against Man City and Chelsea. It's away from home that Unai is going to earn his corn this season.

We were never in control for those games though. For the first time in decades against these ******, we have a manager who knew how to defend a lead.

Exactly this, completely different performance today. Not so much blood and thunder, but large spells of total control and shape, the team had shape and i cant remember a single hopeful punt into the box and this is a manyoo team that haven’t lost in 7 or 8. Im going with my lad on Thursday and still don’t expect loads as whens the last time we beat these twice in a week. But today, wow, just all those fooking years of getting older and never beating them at home and once Ramseys goal went in, it was easy , total controlled football.

And a last point Ollie Watkins is very obviously not shit.

1954.

I think these players know, for the first time in a long time, they're seriously under the microscope by a manager who knows what he's doing

Video removed, what was it?
I'll gues Martinez giving Bailey an elbow to the ribs and nothing happening from the ref.
