They'd conceded 1 goal in their last 7 games (and that was a pen at Chelsea), and were unbeaten in 9. They may not be the Man Utd of Fergie days but they aren't mugs either. Although we made them look like mugs.

Our oldest grandson is on his way home from a trip to the Cern Hadron Collider, he's eighteen today and to think he's never seen the Villa beat Manure at Villa Park, he'll be as happy as a clam.

The gaffer

Unai Emery: "The supporters were amazing supporting us and the players were great with the plan. First step is to take confidence, start with energy. The fans supported with their response.  The way we played the 90 minutes we can be optimistic, we have to keep improving."

The Villa ladies beat 'The Mighty Reds YNWA' away and Rangers lost. What a day!

The last time we beat them at home, Nigel Spink was an unused sub for us !

It was the space we created that was the real stand out.
United got the stretch.

Without going back to find the post from Risso earlier this sums up the difference today compared to Man City and Chelsea. We played well in those games but still never really looked like winning them, today we looked like we were a threat every time we attacked because we were dragging defenders out of position and using the space it created. The way we setup with Buendia, JJ, Watkins and Bailey was so much cleverer than anything Gerrard managed, with all 4 of them swapping positions and forcing defenders to make decisions. Shaw in particular looked like a useless sack of shit.

Unbelievable result. They really are a horrible shower of ******, and we deservedly won. Has work started on the Emery statue yet?

Wow, the CERN Hadron Collider is perhaps of the very few things on earth I’d enjoy seeing as much as us beating Manchester United at VP!

One of the training videos last week showed Emery pointing into space and the look of our players looking like “wtf are we allowed to do that?”

That was shockingly good. Shocking. The contrast with last week, with the last thousand weeks, is mental.

Great win but to be honest, we played equally well against Man City and Chelsea. It's away from home that Unai is going to earn his corn this season.

We were never in control for those games though. For the first time in decades against these ******, we have a manager who knew how to defend a lead.

Exactly this, completely different performance today. Not so much blood and thunder, but large spells of total control and shape, the team had shape and i cant remember a single hopeful punt into the box and this is a manyoo team that haven’t lost in 7 or 8. Im going with my lad on Thursday and still don’t expect loads as whens the last time we beat these twice in a week. But today, wow, just all those fooking years of getting older and never beating them at home and once Ramseys goal went in, it was easy , total controlled football.

And a last point Ollie Watkins is very obviously not shit.
