Unai did kill the game off with his subs as he wanted during latter stages of second half IMO. A manager as a manager ought to be. Dont miss you Steven. Jacob Ramsey some player there I also think. And Bailey he is a good forward to have I think. I like Digne and Konsa also. Babakoura when he came on - what a relief to have players in midfield that can hold the ball when they turn with a lot of opposite players around them as Douglas also can and he was as good as he usual is. UTV :)

Eamonn Holmes, Brummie Reds, Angus Deyton, Jim White, Olly Murs, Zoe Ball, Mick Hucknall. Booby Charlton, can you hear me? Booby Charlton ... your boys took a hell of a beating! Your boys took a hell of a beating!

VAR has just chalked off our 3rd and awarded Man Utd a penalty.

Loads on their forum wanted Martinez sent off for that save on Elanga!

Late goal conceded in the first half generally smashes our confidence. We all expected a collapse. But instead we won the second half 1-0 comfortably and with incredible composure. It’s said that Emery’s video sessions are very long and detailed. Get used it lads. You’re going to learn how to win and defend leads.

The difference was ball retention, which was incredibly good today most of the way. Profound change in 4 days. Proper coach.

At LAST that monkey is off our backs.

I'm nowhere near tactically intelligent enough to explain why but Jacob Ramsey had so much space whenever we attacked and that has to have come from the manager.

It felt at times we were playing with two 10's, little Emi busily trying to get touches in between the lines, which Casemiro was trying to cover - but then Ramsey would arrive a little later in the space traditionally used by a 10.  It all seemed so fluid, very unlike the Villa of the last 12 months which seemed to attack according to a formula.  Ramsey said after the game he was asked to play a bit further forward - and clearly it worked with a goal and an assist.

I am impressed with Emery. He is not awful and I like him.  ;)

Fucking awesome. Just spent the last 45 minutes in a car with a very silent (previously gobby as fuck) Man U fan.

Bwahahahahaha

Amazing

What have they got to be gobby about nowadays? They're even behind Spurs in the pecking order

The movement, the energy, the composure - fucking brilliant. Finally can we put this “squad lacks quality” shit and recognise that for 12 months we have had no effective coaching/management.

It’s a simple game.

And a special fuck you to Danish co commentator Poul Hansen who twice got caught referring to Scuzzbucket FC as "us".  Even my normality peaceable wife was asking "who's that biased wanker?"

Someone on here was going down a similar thinking route.

Madness. Great save. Improvisation at it's finest.

We've got more monkeys than most too. Let's shift a few more this season.

Their own Martinez was very lucky to avoid a VAR review for his elbow into the ribs of Bailey.  I'm all for defenders being strong to protect the ball, but that was basically an assault.

Brilliant performance.  We let them back into it at the end of the second half, but an extremely professional second half display.  I was 12 when we last beat this lot in the league at home.  I'm 40 on Thursday
