He resigned, but then didn’t go anywhere. Last I heard he was challenging for the Labour leadership.

Another photo opportunity manager for our CEO.

As ever, the forum's great thinker had him sussed from the beginning.

Ha ha did Fred eventually get banned? I seem to recall his peculiar brand of nihilistic doom-mongering was extreme even for some of the forums more glass half empty posters.
Yes he was our cultural leader, a sad loss.

Do we think he's uncharacteristically had a few? I've never heard him speak like this, he's unfuckinghinged.

(And it's awesome.)

He's either had a few vinos or done a line or two. I loved it, and it's probably the first and last time we'll see him in a Villa shirt.

I suspect training won't be too strenuous tomorrow.

Absolutely great to see him shitfaced. He's earned it. I genuinely think we could lose 10-0 on Sunday, and I'm very unbothered.

Steve Bruce on Talksport Drive time...Andy Goldstein, "People are saying when Pep leaves now that Unai is probably the best manager in the league"

Bruce, "I have to agree with that but there are still some great managers in the league, David Moyes, for me has to be in the same category as Unai Emery"

The only time Emery and Moyes should ever be considered "equals", is in Scrabble.

Alex Ferguson took three years to win his first trophy at Man Utd, and have his 'process' fully in place.

No pressure, Unai...

Seriously though, it's been an incredible turn-around in three and a half years.  If we can continue to grow off the pitch, at a level that gives us the resources to seriously back Unai ON the pitch, then I think we're on the verge of a very special period in our history. UTV!!

I don't know why, but after seeing his interviews the other night, I got the feeling that this is the end of a period in Villa's history. But also the start of another huge and potentially very exciting period. Definitely got the impression Emery is planning for the next 3+ years, but can't help but feeling some of the older and fringe players like Mings could well be on there way in the close season, with a few excellent 'upgrades' coming in.

Fucking hell, that’s some leap.

Isn’t there a phrase about dinosaurs flocking together or something?

That may be thge most Steve Bruce thing ever said. If anyone ever needed to sum up why Bruce is a failed manager you only need to point out that he sees no difference in ability between Emery and Moyes.

I hope not if he is only pictured wearing them on victory parades.
