Miguel Delaney downplaying his/our European achievement on the radio this evening, saying our revenue dwarfs that of everyone else in the competition, even Roma.

There is obvious disparity, but that’s not really our fault. I assume he said the same of Spurs and Manure last year.

Our revenue might dwarf other clubs, but I’d be interested to compare net spend in the year of the competition.

It's true though.

I know, that's why I said 'he's a prick'

I presume he spends his other time downplaying the achievements of Citeh, Arsenal, Man Utd etc for the same reasons.

The prick.

I tell you what, he speaks bloody good Spanish.
I went to Belgium with a few Scottish mates back in the early 00s. One of them - Allan - had never been on a plane before, and only left Scotland once before in his life, when he went to Bristol for 2 nights on a stag do.

There’s a number of stories around his general inability to comprehend what other countries were (eg “I dinnae ken why we haftae get oor money in Euros. How do they no have pounds?”), but to skip to the relevant one after he got back he was absolutely amazed by the language.

“I dinnae understaun it. They all speak Belgian, ken. Even the weans are at it, they speak Belgian at eachother. How dae they ken whit they’re saying?”

It still cracks me up to this day.

Hahahahaha! I know those lads. I'm related to some of them.

We generate more money than anyone, our squad cost more than anyone, our wage bill is higher than anyone. Closest to us would be Forest. Doesn't guarantee success but sure gives all English sides a significant advantage in the Europa and Conference.

Nearly, only 18 teams above us.

Sorry I mean in Europa - we may have more revenue but we cant spend on new players was my point.

This is just wonderful. An interview with Unai in Spanish (subtitled) so he can be open and clear about his thoughts and methods.

It’s brilliant

Totally totally driven (obsessed?) but with a humanity that just shines.

Surely there isn't anyone that thinks English clubs don't have a massive advantage in the Europa and Conference? In the last 2 seasons, so far, the only sides to knock out an English side were also English.

I don’t care. Quite frankly when Spanish clubs were dominating both competitions 10 or so years ago no-one was complaining then ditto the Italians back in the 90s. These things have a habit of fading in and out and will do again.

Maybe no-one complained then because they didn't do it with a huge financial advantage.

No one is complaining now either. Well no one that matters, but there's no point denying it either.

Italian dominance was very much financial.
