Regarding Smithy's post, I agree. I think it would be different with Barca, although Herr Flick looks pretty safe thankfully.

Man U have always been my worry. Even more so now that Glasner has gone shit, because Palace are unable to play Villa every week. Still, hopefully they give Carrick a twenty year contract.

I can't see the Glazers, or RATcliffe handing over the sort of control Emery would want. They'd want to meddle.

And I also think he's happy at the Villa.

It's a project, he won't leave.

We're a club, not a project!

And I also think he's happy at the Villa.

They seem to hand complete control over to whichever bloke they most recently thought was a good idea, hence the likes of Brailsford, Ashworth, Berrada and (inexplicably) Wilcox having loads of power at one point or another before they move on to the next one.

Obviously Ratcliffe is a complete moron, but at some point they are going to probably going to accidentally make good choices rather than bad ones. And it's not impossible that thinking of Emery, and then agreeing with Emery that he should be in charge of things rather that bloke who was alright on the wing for Blackburn twenty years ago could be a chain of events that happens.

I still think that by the far the most likely scenario is that Emery starts next season as our manager. But Man Utd are probably one of the *very* few risks that he doesn't.

I think that sums it up well Dave.

I get your point but I think Emery has changed everything with us. Even at the level that Ratcliffe would want control over.

Emery has brought in pretty much everyone on the sporting side, and overhauled it all, I just can't see him being given that there, though as you say, that club is one of the very few that would be tempting for anyone.

Perhaps we shouldn't of let him have so much control of the sporting director as Monchi was largely shite.

True, Emery Out!

I wonder how it would have been had he got his first choice back then..
