I just have this horrible feeling that we're coming towards the end of something.

Tony Soprano vibes.
Is Tony trusting Paulie, or not taking him out when he was tempted to, the same as Unai persisting with….Ollie, or Emi B…..or Bailey?

Hopefully, because I’d say that was the right decision in the end.
Wrong thread, but do you think so? I always had it in mind that Paulie and Patsy did for him? Maybe I need to watch the whole thing for a third time, its been a few years

No chance, in my humble opinion.

No. It was Eugene’s brother in the Members Only jacket.

Hired by Furio so he could come back and marry Carmela 🥰

Sorry all. I’ve put something Furio-related in the Mob Talk thread in off topic if anyone’s interested.

If we don't get CL I reckon the summer could see a lot of changes. I'm not convinced Unai will stay.
I think it’s likely he will go either way. Don’t think he has stayed longer than 3 to 4 seasons anywhere before? His demeanor during both this season’s transfer windows has been telling, obviously frustrated at what we can do and I think that will understandably make him think it’s time for a change.

I think Champions League football is going to slip from our grasp and SUE is going to move on to pastures new. Rogers will not be here in 12 months time.
It’s the Aston Villa cycle of life. We’ve had a few good years but it’s drawing to a close now, back to mediocrity for a few more years, but the good times will be back, European games and a good run in the FA Cup will return…..but this team, this era, Emery…..its in its winter.
It’s been a blast. UTV.

Six weeks ago we were looking at winning the league. We've had the heart ripped out of the team and now it's all over. How about getting a sense of proportion?

Hi Dave. I’ve been a fan for a a long time and I recall very well chatting to you at a very wet away game at Portsmouth back in the late 90’s. I’m all for having a sense of proportion, I’m not saying it’s all over. I just feel that this current era is drawing to a close that’s all. The spine is aging, we don’t seem to be improving and sadly we see this team slipping away. Martinez, Mings, SJM, Watkins are heartbreakingly on the wane.
It’s been quite brilliant but I feel like I’ve heard that a new Dr Who has been cast.
A new chapter is inevitable and sense it’s going to come quicker than we want.

There will be some changes in playing staff but Emery isn't leaving. No way. Hia deal with us was signed in 2024 and runs til 2029.

Nothing has changed about who we are, where we're heading etc. Monchi fucked up and went. The new guy plans for the future.

We're having a bad run but stop with the dramatics folks.

Flattery will get you nowhere. I've been sucking up to him for ages, but he still hates me.

The team's slipping at the moment because of injuries. Martinez is still one of the best, Mings isn't first choice anymore, the others are being replaced. It happens at every club and it'll happen here.

You're right, Dave. Always. And so handsome.

Have you been working out recently? Because your profile reminds me a bit of that bloke who played Thor.

(Woody, we'll see how far this gets me...)

😂

I sold some copies of H&V for Dave 20 years ago for a few games. He gave me an extra fiver after, I think, Gabby's hattrick against Man City. Probably because I was parading around giving it the hard sell having had a few beers. Rang me a few nights later and we had a good chat. Separated myself from the Barfly up Digbeth to see it through. No idea what we talked about.

Moral of the story. Make the man some money and you're in his good books.
