Unai Emery on Instagram:

“Massive thanks to our incredible fans who travelled to the Netherlands. Your support made the difference today. The team fought for every ball. Nights like this — we do it together. Up the Villa!” 💜

Love him.

More importantly he loves us

True so.

we battled really well last night - glad he's got the fight from the players, as that, for some reason was missing in the first few games of the season. He's starting to appear back to his normal self now.

I know I quoted a long period last season and the year before where we'd conceded a lot of goals over a long stretch of time, well we've conceded 22 in our last 25 now. Less than a goal a game is a marked improvement.

We obviously, even to the eye are less potent going forward but at least we aren't having to score 3 to win every week.

I don't know if it was mentioned anywhere else on here, but that was Emery's 200th European match as manager.

The fact he is still so obviously pleased to be managing in European competition is quite something.  Simply, my favourite ever manager.

Tends to happen when you try to improve the defence that you lose something going forward. We had to tighten up though, like you say.

Crisis over. Not that it was one anyway.

Four wins in a row.

The big man has sorted it and there was never any doubt.

Unai Emery you are the love of my life.

150th match as manager today. I assume he still has the highest winning percentage (other than Jim Barron) Here's to the next 150.

Fun fact. His win percentage here is 53.33 and we think he's amazing, at Arsenal it was 55.13 and they thought he was shit and sacked him. Twats.

Hardly anyone did apart from a couple of trolls. Some questioned if something was going on behind the scenes as the spark had gone but while we're still not firing on all cylinders we're getting back on track which is what everyone else hoped for.

Never wanted him gone, personally.

But feared some of the players might.

Should've sacked him and spun the managerial roulette wheel for another 50 years, until the next genuinely brilliant one.
