Our CL fixtures have been a little fortunate. Young Boys are lower-Ch'ship level, Bologna have been robbed of the manager and some of the players who over-achieved to get them into the CL and Bruges are another very limited team who we completely gifted a win to.

That leaves Bayern - who, let's be honest, played most of the football at VP and Durán's goal was a one in a hundred effort. Juventus were missing half a team and came for a point.

The PL is a harder competition than we're finding the CL group-stage. I'd fancy Bournemouth and Brentford to do as well in it as we have so far to be honest.

Bloody hell eamonn. Has everyone on this site taken a miserablist pill.

Torres is a huge problem as a defender at the heart of the defence . Absolutely no getting away from that , yes he can play some great balls but that's not enough at this level .

What level? He played pretty much every game for the team that finished in the top four and got us near the top of the Champion's League, but he's not up to playing for a side in 12th?

Torres was at the heart of our defence last season, in a run that got us to the semi-final of a European competition and 4th in the Premier League. What he offers is plenty.

Yeah it’s just one of Tim’s misguided crusades.

He has also been in our defence for all but one of out CL games, and the one he missed we conceded because of his replacement.

Maybe he just needs Kamara in front of him, doing the defending he doesn't seem capable of.

I know right? Not sure how he's ever managed to get by as a defender his whole career, and how he ever managed to win trophies, play for his country or regularly qualify for European football is a mystery.

I don't see what's wrong in suggesting they we haven't had to play that well in the CL. Gven how ropey we've been in the league, it suggests we've come up against poorer opposition in Europe and have played with a cautious approach against the big two at home.

Our last two decent league performances against notable opposition in the past 6 months have been West Ham and Arsenal away (maybe Liverpool at home if we're being generous).

How come konsa is getting off lightly compared to torres ffs . Hasnt he been a problem too ? At least torres can play 1 forward pass in a game !! Oh but konsa can defend ....well hasnt he been part of the problem regarding ' defending too ' ....we as a fanbase are gunna drive away the best manager we have had for years with our usual bedwetting about recent performances . Dunelm must be rubbing their hands now .

Konsa has gone off the boil ever since his England call ups. Far too casual for me and a bit too arrogant at times

Or if the midfield just lets opposition run through it you can put any defender in and they’ll struggle - which might explain why everyone is struggling.

Don't be a dickhead, as if the manager is going to pack up because a few people on an obscure website are questioning him.
