Unai isn't going anywhere due to the new contract, but he needs to earn his money and sort this shit out.  If that means we have to sell some of our best players to bring in bespoke signings, so be it.  Not something I normally agree with as we shouldn't sell our best players but then again, any more of this and I can't see Martinez wanting to play for a lower tabled side.   We have been largely poor for much of this year nd I wonder if we need a wholesale revisit of the formation, the way we play and have to reinvent ourselves.  I appreciate we finished 4th last season but that is history and things move on.

As a coach you are ultimately responsible for results but our defending and the chances we miss are down to individuals.
Some big decisions for Emery next week and I’d start by dropping Watkins and Torres.

Hopefully, we'll have Onana back so that a footballing double pivot can be employed. I think Watkins has earned a rest (!) and Mings deserves a recall. Mbuemo will give our left of defence a real challenge.

We’ve been sussed out now by other teams. We need a back up when our main plan isn’t working and it currently isn’t working.

Protect a fragile defence and go from there. At the moment we are just too easy to score against and at the other end the misses are costing us.

Unai isn't going anywhere because he's the best manager we could possibly have. The only better manager in the league is in another patch of form as poor as us, if not actually slightly poorer if we're being pedantic.

He'll turn it round, not because ****** like to take the piss out of how he speaks- inexplicable to include Villa fans in that, absolute twats, but because he's very good.

He’s a superb coach.

Not at the moment he isn't. 2024 has mostly been poor, and there's no sign whatsoever of anything getting any better. Aside from Jacob Ramsey, that was our best side that played today, and it was an absolute rabble. Every bit as bad as Fulham away under Gerrard.

He may be a superb coach but he is not above criticism.  Picking Philogene today was a shocking decision and as much as I sighed when I saw the side, I bet Chelsea were delighted.  Unai needs to show a ruthless streak and not show any loyalty to those letting him down.

True he's not going anywhere but I do fear this season will soon be a write off.

I thought it could have been Rogers on the left, Philogene on the right, Tielemans up with Watkins to play the short passes through and McGinn further back to help the defence out. Instead it was the normal 4-4-1-1 wasn't it?
