I've said before that one of the big reasons I like him so much is his persona. Win, lose or draw he's the same. Intelligent, articulate, and makes you feel confident. No 'look at me aren't I brilliant now watch me lick myself in a mirror' after a great win and performance, no 'oh woe is me with injuries and as for the officials, disgrace, blah blah' after a stinker. If you just heard his tone postmatch you'd have no idea if we'd just won or lost, were top of the league or bottom. He's a beautiful machine.

Yeah. I think pundits should point this out when they hear a whinging manager.

Why would they, the media prefer a whinger then not. Generates the news.

However it is also tougher to compete when a ref knows they will never be called up about their performances by one of the big teams compared to the others. They might not feel as swayed towards that side.

Oh I know why they don't, I should have stated it was more of a utopian wish.

I know what you mean on the second point as well but I would still rather Unai stayed classy, even if it is a tiny percentage point detrimental.

Interestingly (to us nerds), I believe today was the first time he's started an interview as Villa manager without his usual greeting. Did it on Pravda and with the Beeb. What does it mean?

There’s a video on Twitter where he has a bit of a go at a female foreign journalist. Never seen him look so rattled before.

He’s not really having a go. It’s more the question was headed to a negative place about the game or form and he was stressing that he only wants to focus on the positives of where we are. It looks worse than it is I think. He does look like that some of the exertions has got to him a little. Basically saying that two weeks everything was great and then football happened. Reading between the lines it’s all of it just mounting up especially injuries which he never likes to blame. It’s must be hard to keep shit together.

I think he is going to have to take a risk on Thursday with some of the squad players. So far he has been reluctant to do this, but he is going to need KH Tim Kellyman Chambers and whoever else is fresh
There is no point in continuing to flog a dead horse.

Yes he's indirectly saying the team is knackered out.

Fuck that. A Mars Bar every day.

Because a Mars a day helps you work, rest and play.
