Aye, artistic licence and all that.

Even if after dinner anecdotes can't really be considered art in any reasonable society.

It's a bit more than artistic licence though, making out he was crawling on the floor, it's quite demeaning. I'm sure there are plenty of other stories he could tell that were embellished but at least grounded in more truth. Now I know that, I think it comes across a bit twatish by Dean.

The Clough story. A few people have said it's made up.

https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.theguardian.com/football/2016/sep/07/brian-clough-dean-saunders-nottingham-forest

Fair enough, I had never read that before and the article makes some good points about Saunders making profit out of Cloughs problems and Kendalls as it happens.

I've heard it before and I don't think he was poking fun at or trying to exploit Brian Clough's drinking problem.  I think it comes across as him trying to paint a picture of how bizarre the encounter was.

So him mentioning he "suddenly suspected he might be drunk" in a way to elicit laughs in the presenters (and presuming in the after dinner listeners he also tells it to) when someone who was there states nothing like that even happened does is not exploiting Cloughs problems?

His first nil-niller in 97 games as a manager in the Premier League. I hope he smashes that yellow and purple cylindrical Manager of the Month award off his wheelie-bin tonight.

Mark Crossley tells a much funnier story about Clough making him play for his sons Sunday league side, nothing related to drink in the story.

I've always felt there are VERY few clubs that could prize Unai away given what he has here now, but frankly, I'm terrified that Liverpool will come knocking now that Klopp has announced he's stepping down at the end of the season...

no after following Wenger into Arsenal , would he want to follow Klipperty.
Also he has full control here in the football side. Obviously everything crossed

I'm honesty not remotely worried.  I cannot see Emery leaving here before he's won stuff and got us in the CL consistently

Im not concerned.

They will most likely go for Alonso.

If they don't, then we can go for Alonso.

Emery has been allowed to build absolutely everything with us. That doesn’t even include all of the stuff behind the scenes with connections with other clubs that have been established to support what he’s doing at Villa. He’d have to start all of that from scratch again. Why would he want to do that? I’m not remotely worried about it.

One of the very few clubs I could be worried about Emery going to from us.

Hopefully they go for Alonso
