Emery and the club took a battering on here for selling Ings. He's scored in 1 of the 26 league games he's played for West Ham.

At the time he was our top scorer, and nobody knew quite the effect Emery was going to have on Watkins.

I did, I said it on here right at the start he'd love Watkins and have him firing.

I think the worry people had was more that we'd sold Ings and loaned Archer out, and not really brought another forward in. I mean, it's still sort of true, and we're lucky that Watkins appears to be made of granite and tugboat ropes.

And thank god Pochettino turned us down.

Looking at the two of them, it seems to me obvious which one still has the hunger.

Absolutely. That quote from Unai last night saying he'd no longer be a Coach if he started looking to his past. He's totally focused on now and building for the future.

Only 2 players that started last night were signed under Emery. Which shows how good he is and is also a good sign of our overall transfer policy under the new owners.

Emery - Torres, Tielemans
Smith - Emi, Konsa, Watkins, Luiz, Bailey
Gerrard - Digne, Carlos, Kamara
Bruce - McGinn

Pretty conclusive proof that Smith lost his way and Gerrard was just shit. All along I thought we had a top-half squad and it was just waiting for someone to work out how to get the best out of it.

Pundits/pals of Stevie Mee banging-on about how he had only spent money on Digne, ignoring the Coutinho experiment (it's the wages, stoopid!) and that he had a decent squad to begin with.

But when football becomes a contest in who has the most money, it feels great when a settled squad with similar personnel over the last few years are now showing what they can do under the tutelage of an expert.

And I ran
I ran so far away
I just ran

Now everything's OK

Me too. Was used on the Vice City advert.

What do you think of my chant? Shall I keep trying?

Thunderstruck by AC/DC.

Na na na na na na UNAI
And so on.

Could do a good light show to that as well.

He's said I can keep the royalties.

I think what he actually said was ‘you’re welcome to this song.’

I think what he actually said was, "And you can tell everybody, this is your song".
