I'd just advise everybody not to click on it.

yep for that site, I think better to paste the story text only, people can always look for the link if they want it.

He has jumped clubs for 'better' jobs before. I seem to remember something happening around this time last year, for example. It's not the work of Satan to suggest he might do so again when the chance arises.

Surely the concise way to put it is that he would probably leave us if a "better" job came up, but it's looking increasingly unlikely that anything that qualifies as a better job than his current one will become available to him.

If you look at our rise over the last 5 years its been every bit as impressive as Newcastles, but they don't have to put up with this shit.  Since the owners came in we have had near consistent improvement - apart from the time we employed a scouse chancer - and I think it's clear we're not likely to do anything as small time as that again any time soon.  When Unai leaves - I fully expect the owners will go after another world-class manager.

What shit are we ‘putting up with’ exactly?

You know, stuff.

Constantly having our manager and best players sold to clubs beneath us in the league but with bigger Brands.

I think if Eddie Howe had the background Unai has, he'd be getting linked with more jobs than he is.

He doesn't though, which is why I would take Emery over Howe every single time, he's a proven manager at European level, and a serial winner.

Howe has had one really good season at Newcastle, and kept Bournemouth up for a bit.

What I do think is fucking horrible, though, is the region's biggest 'news outlet' again doing its level best to stamp on the biggest club in the region.

This is probably true - but Howe is doing a great job, and it shouldn't be underestimated.  Obviously I wouldn't swap Unai for any manager - and hope he retires from Villa after 20 years of European glory.

Howe has never failed where it can be said that Emery has the one blot (he wasn’t given enough time)at Arsenal on his managerial career. Howe is a relatively newcomer by comparison. If Howe actually wins something at Newcastle his stock will rise.accordingly. I like Howe but like Emery more and he’s a better manager.

Drummond is spot on and Paulie is too. A once proud local paper reduced to clicks for income. Wankers.

You know how many ex-managers and players don't seemed to have realised how big a club Villa were, untll they got there. To what extent do you think Unai feels that yet?

It is worth remembering that he’s been top of he food chain before at PSG and they got rid of him despite him being their most successful manager*.

He’s persuaded loads of his best mates to join Villa, he’s not going to turn his back on them any time soon.

*probably.

In terms of win % it's not probable, it's absolute fact.

People keep going on about his failure at Arsenal.  They’ve not really been relevant since the invincibles.  He took them on a 22 game unbeaten run and to a European final.

Seconded. Hope you don’t mind paulie, I’ve tweeted your last remark to John Townley, their Villa correspondent. Don’t suppose he’ll engage. It just pisses me off.

As an aside, anybody who is remotely worried about Emery going to Man U, you can currently get odds of 33/1 of him being their next manager. Stick a ton on, and help yourself get over the anguish with a nice holiday to The Maldives. Just for reference, that's longer odds than Graham Potter, Gareth Southgate, Wayne Rooney and Steve McClaren. Wayne Rooney!

If NSWE are serious at all, they'll stick Emery on a £20 million a year contract and pay a similar amount to Yanited to secure the services of the former Boro captain.

Back in the day you appointed a manager at the chairman's choice you hoped for the best
When Sir Ron was appointed we got lucky and so did he, a club bursting for success and him a strong minded tactical guy determid to win
The same could probably be said for Yanited and Fergysun
Today it is different
For the top teams, depending on their ownership money is no objective, success is down to the ability of the manager, his coaching team, the director of football and the vision of the management being in synch
Hence Pep and City, Arteta and Arsenal, Klopp and Liverpool
To break into and pip those three will be some achievement
We have the faith, the owners and Emery
"And the Villa go marching on "

My mate is an Arsenal fan and he doesn't rate Arteta one bit. He also reckons Emery is a genius and said had Arsenal backed him to the extent they've backed Arteta, they'd have won the league by now.

He genuinely thinks Emery is absolute master of football.

And he hates Arteta.
