He's everything you could wish for in a manager. I love him.

Fans loved Smith because he waved to fans. The reality is win games and fans will love you. Lose them and they'll find a way to criticise anything you do.
People are finding a way to praise a manager for not waving to fans. I couldn't really care less either way, but the psychology of fans is interesting.
