In his news conference, Emery had a point when he said, "Remember where we were and how difficult it is to reach in the top 10."
Premier Safety Status, according to Emery, is first. Then comes the top 10.
It's a setback, but we've had a fantastic streak of victories, so we're still working on it.
There are several positives in our play today and can see what we are trying to do
There is also much to do.

This season has been written off. Not nearly good enough.

Played really well and created so much.

Shit finishing and brain farts in defence cost us.

Saw on the match thread things like 'Emery out-thought by Rodgers'. Really? Did Emery think Kamara into giving it away? Or Moreno turning into a clumsy giraffe for the fourth?

A few things go different ways and all we'd talk about was how much we dominated them today, which we did. We absolutely fucked them but somehow couldn't finish and got all silent movie when they attacked. Positives and negatives. Incredibly frustrating. But maybe let's not go over the top after an annoying league defeat.

I’m not sure about written off, but I’d certainly say it’s not been taken seriously enough.

Iffy home form is the one real disappointment with Emery's reign so far. We blew away Yanited in the first quarter of an hour of his first game and managed the rest of that match really well.

Since then though, we have struggled to beat the press of fairly average PL sides (Wolves, Leeds, Lesta) and Stevenage was just an abberation. Suggests that he needs better ball-playing defenders and more dynamic midfielders who can move the ball on quickly.

One thing with this short goal kicks/beating the press thing.

Of course Kamara backs himself. But why when he receives the ball and feels an opposition player right on him does he not just play it back to Emi instead of trying to turn and dribble through 2-3 of them.

We launch it long and that straight away takes a few of them out of the game and then it's a case of winning the duel and then we've got a three on three if the pass is right.

Perhaps all teams do this but considering we've gone out of the FA cup and had a 1-0 lead for all of two minutes it might be a good idea to play the percentages a little bit more from actual goal kicks as it's a pretty s*** way to keep conceding goals imo.

Just fucking hoof it up the pitch ffs.

Sick of this passing it at the back rubbish.

Probably down to statistical analysis that you're .034% more likely to score a goal if you keep possession from a goal kick or something stupid like that and so that's why teams do it.

If you're not Pep's Barca then don't bother.

It's not that they're not good enough. Martinez and Kamara certainly are. It's that they were too complacent. First, Martinez shouldn't be giving him that ball. Second Kamara has plenty of time to pass it to someone, or if need be, clear it. They just got too cocky.
