I'm quite impressed with his enthusiasm at trying to get Ludwig out the door.

Looks like he is happy to let Sanson and Nakamba go this window, doubt we would get much for them but it looks like he is clearing some of the dead wood out.

Makes sense to make some space for Tim in the squad next season.

I wonder if Emery has even considered Tim.

What is his record like generally in bringing through youth players?

Surely we can just finish his loan early? Actually maybe we can’t, but if that is the case surprised we’ve told him he’s toast this early. We might need him at some point (Fucking hope not, mind) and his head probably wouldn’t be in the best place.

We've got Moreno, Digne and Young at a push who can play there, so we're about as well covered in that position as we can be.

Well, IIRC he brought Smith-Rowe, Saka and Martinelli through at the Arse.

And Guendouzi. A couple of those were more like him bringing Duran through than Archer but they're still teenagers that he trusted in the first team. He sihned Saliba as well.

I think Saliba was signed a couple of months after he left. I might be wrong though. He definitely signed Martinelli. 100%.

Emery signed Saliba in July 19 and was sacked November 19. Another good Emery young signing.

It would be nice if they were all Emery signings rather than Edu's (or his predecessor's).

I stand corrected. At least we know he wants pace in his teams... Which is great.

The accepted truth is that Emery wanted most of them and got his way but they had a big falling out over Zaha and Pepe with Edu forcing through the latter when Emery didn't want him.

Yep. Young won Serie A playing in that position. LB right now is the least of our concerns. We need someone who can create chances and stick the ball in the net.

But Young is now our first choice RB pretty much and I don't think having a wrong footed fullback works that well under Emery's system. If anything we need another RB if he doesn't fancy trying a kid there to make it 2 each and Young covering.

Saka, Smith-Rowe and Martinelli all made their Arsenal debuts under him.  If they're good enough, they'll get a chance!

EDIT - I see plenty of others have already made this point!

I'd love to think that was true. Pepe has clearly been a big waste of money - £72m in 2019 was utterly bonkers.
