I often wonder what footage they are actually given to watch in circumstances like this? The sort of thing we watch on Match of the Day or Sky is probably next to useless from a coaching perspective, as you would want to see all the players on the pitch, at all times, and in all phases of the game.  I guess we have a team recording matches in this way for analysis and coaching reasons?

By all accounts there are about 30 cameras used for most premier league games (because every game in the league will be shown live somewhere in the world). I'd expect most of that footage is made available to the clubs and we'll have data analysts whose main job is to edit that footage to highlight players and passages of play from multiple angles.

The tech is available to use all the footage to create a full 3d recreation of the game but I doubt many clubs would go that far with it just yet but it'll happen eventually. I can see a point in the near future where teams have that model and then can move a player slightly or change the chlice of pass and have an AI predict what difference it would make. If you want to focus on players making good decisions (which I believe is the difference between an average premier league player and a world class player) I can see a lot of value in showing them the likely outcome of doing something different at a key moment.

It's impossible to make any kind of conclusion on Emery thus far. It's worth recalling Gerrard won 4 of his first 6 games. I do like that Emery hasnt dodged the hard decision on Danny Ings. Both Smith and Gerrard botched that one. Easy decision would have been to wait for a replacement first.

I suspect Ings was foisted on Smith as a sop to the fans after the Greasy sale.

Emery's games have been a fair bit tougher than Gerrard's were.

Id agree with you, a Purslow solo run most likely, but Deano always insisted he had final say on all transfers. Arguably he wasn't strong enough then to block the transfer and subsequently made a mess of the team trying to accommodate both Ings and Watkins.

If sources on here are correct and Ings could have gone to WHU last summer then Gerrard botched that decision.
