There's a lot of utter ****** with rubbish opinions in the media, aren't there.

Aly mccoist? ******. Gary Lineker? ******. Stuart Pearce? ******. Danny Murphy? ******. Paul cunting Lambert? ******.

Reading about Ozil tweeting about Emery's English a while back. Ozil? ******.

So many ******. Fuck off and focus on your own miserable clubs and miserable lives.

I hope Emery smashes it at the Villa!

Apologies. My language is appalling.

Most of them are failed managers, lower level footballers, or shit co-commentators/failed full time pundits. But they are thick, rent-a-gob, equivalent of clickbait, narcissistic arseholes who think, because they've been invited to give an opinion, that they are the oracle.

They're all the things you say, but certainly not lower level footballers.

Listening to most pundits about our club is a waste of time. When Man Utd appointed their new foreign coach it was all singing and dancing. The same with Spurs, Arsenal, Man City etc, the media darlings. Now we’ve had the tenacity to appoint a well known ‘foreign’ coach with a history of success we get the usual “should’ve appointed an English coach” rubbish.
They view us a a little tester club for any British/English coach who wants to give it a go while shouting from the rooftops about their new media darling Newcastle. The club who’ve not won anything since the 50’s and who’s support is just the best ever with Ant and Dec in the crowd. Now they are making excuses as to why Emery turned them down but not us. It’s comedy gold but a sad state of affairs at the same time.
Could they be worried Aston Villa have a decent coach now? What they’ll try and do is pile in on him from the off because him being successful can’t be allowed. I’m glad we’ve gone for a non English coach, they seem to have a lot more tactical nouse than most English coaches and that’s exactly what we need.

As soon as i ask it, we get some sort of answer linky
A 23 year old coach he brings with  him according to that. 23 year old, well that seems very youthful but why not.

I can't think of many people that we could have appointed that would have been greeted with such unanimous backing. I think he ticks every box we could have come up with:

Premier League experience. A proven coach all over Europe. Success at clubs of a similar size/stature. Experience at massive clubs with huge expectations. Plays football that will suit a lot of our players. Has a track record of trusting young players.

There are no sure things when it comes to appointing managers, but this seems like we have covered as many bases as possible here. I don't think he has a ceiling - this is a massive appointment. It could lead anywhere. I can't wait.

The reason Emery turned them down is that he was in the middle of a CL campaign and he didn't want to unsettle his family at the time.  I guess there was alo real uncertainty about the quality of their squad.

Much as we'd like to think he is persuaded by our history and status compared to Newcastle, I think it's mostly a matter of timing.  I also think the win on Saturday showed he has some real quality to work with.  The fact he's being given full autonomy may also have helped.

He'll be able to communicate fine with Buendia and Coutinho, and if he can get those two firing in the same team we'll finish top half.
does he speak Portuguese?

Agree with this. We shoudnt care much about what others / "framed" pundits think; We belive in ourselves, it s what we do! :). Anyway, a lot of respect for the club how they handed this managerial shift. Again all things behind closed doors before it leaked an hour or two before announcement. Possibly the best manager we could have right now as i read me up on him. Then again, we will see of course.

The fact we're called Aston Villa would have made him at least think for a moment "another team with Villa in their name and it happens to be the biggest club with Villa in their name...funny that, I think it's meant to be."

Let’s start to ignore these so called pundits..it’s just one jolly collection of ex pro’s laughing all the way to the bank.
Let’s concentrate on us and our club, once we start winning and climbing the table then we can be happy and it’ll matter even less what they say.
Don’t waste your energy on the likes of Danny Murphy…he hardly looks like he’s enjoying life!
Come on Unai, let’s take the Villa back to the top.

Stuart Pearce on talksport doesn't seem to think it's a good appointment. He seems to think we should have given Sean Dyche a chance because Eddie Howe has done well at Newcastle. I'm not entirely sure how that is remotely relevent.

Another little Englander

Probably thinks we should have given Alan Curbishley or Terry Butcher a chance.  And that new club crest would look great with a couple of Spitfires and a bulldog on it.

How could you forget the poppy? And Boris?
