Ultimately we got a win going into the international break. That’ll do, but clearly we need much better in terms of performance.

Coutinho was really good and looked very sharp. I really hope Kamara hasn’t got a bad one.

Can't be arsed to moan about that. We won and I got to see a few fancy flicks from my Phil. Happy enough. Konsa and Mings were our best players, IMO.

An unconvincing, boring win. But a win is a win as is a clean sheet.

I've felt for a while that Konsa is slowly creeping back to his previous form, and by the looks of things we'll need him to be that good.

Dreadful football from both teams. It was a really hard watch. I just can't see what the pattern of play is. Really struggling to see where we are going under Gerrard.

We were slightly the better of two terrible sides, have no idea what Gerrards playing style is and it appears neither do the players. Coutino had his best game for a while, McGinn again tried hard but we are a better side without him. Three points is our reward but I am not looking forward to the rest of the season.

I think Coutinho got MOTM. It's a bit of funny season so far, Soton beat Chelsea and are level with us and Palace are below us.

Yeah I thought it was close between Coutinho and Mings, Konsa had a welcome good game though.

Fluked the last four points imo.

7 points from 7, relegation form. That we're 13th with that return is extremely flattering.

Points on the board sir, points on the board.

Anything can happen in the other games.

Don’t worry, I’m sure it’ll be alright now Steevie has some extra time on the training pitch with his players…..

We deserved the win. We’ve been awful yes, that was an improvement. Only slightly, but an improvement all the same.

We were very solid at the back. Mings was magnificent and Konsa is getting back to that good version of over a year ago.
Coutinho was great , McGinn made sone great tackles in the second half;but also gave it away lots.

My big worry is lack of goal threat.

But it’s nice to start the weekend and not have it ruined. 4 points out of 7, onwards and upwards.

Man City 2nd half seemingly a blip amidst an 18 match run of varying degrees of detritus.

One of the most boring 1-0 wins I've ever seen, did we have one decent shot second half?

Coutinho in fairness probably had his best game since Southampton at home last season but it just looked like a game between sides that finished 14th and 16th last season and neither will finish much higher than that from tonight.

Gerrard out.

He still hesitates with the ball dropping out of the sky, seems to misjudge the flight too often.
