Drinkwater is the only one ever where i made my mind up when we signed him, even before he'd kicked a ball that it was a big mistake and he was going to be utterly shite.

Had hardly kicked a ball in anger for two years, couldn't get into a shit Burnley team, and had all sorts of really unsavoury stories following him around. So in he came, straight into the team, was shit, then left during which time he stuck the nut on Jota and then apologised using Google translate. Utter shit, and an utter twat.
Signing Marlon Harewood was nuts. At that point we were getting excited and believing in our selves again and then we purchase him.
Eirik Bakke. Total shite. See also: Nicky Shorey.

I had exactly the same regards as to a very similar type of player Villa had on loan in recent history, as I had some ITK from a very reliable source that, to use a totally inappropriate and misguided phrase, 'he liked a drink'. What was actually said was that there was a serious drink problem. When looking at some very talented players who appear to lose form very quickly you have to wonder if the game has a bigger with alcohol abuse that it cares to admit and that in reality the sport has not moved on from the lessons learnt from George Best and others.
