I'd be happy to see Dendonker next to Kamara if we persist with the 4231 formation.

I would see him as a very able back up to Kamara. It should be Kamara and Doug at the base of midfield.

Unless Kamara plays the Luiz role in the 2.

Hands up, I thought he was great today.

Good man, you slagged him to death!

ha ha he’s had a half decent 45 mins he’s not turned into Johan Neeskens

You'd have preferred McGinnagain to start?

When we signed Dendocker it seemed like a panic buy to me but great to see it working out like this!

It was as we needed to replace Kamara. No injury to him, no Leander signed. However it shocked me that Gerrard decided to leave him out mostly. I suspect it wasn't his signing.

Add what happened with Sarr and it would seem that Gerrard and Lange weren't exactly on the same wavelength.

He played well yesterday and did the basics to allow the others to shine. He still runs like he’s constipated though.

He did keep it simple which is exactly what we needed in the middle. His presence benefited Luiz.

He tackles and keeps it simple and does not give the ball away alot .  I did see him venture forward a few times which worried me  :D

He scored the winner against us a couple of years back IIRC

Yep, with a daisy-cutter during lockdown. 0-1. We were so poor, couldn't lay a glove on the Wulvs.

It was a really solid display.  He looks slow, but seems to have very good timing.  Won loads of ball and very rarely wasted it.  He made a big difference.  Fair play to him.

It was as we needed to replace Kamara. No injury to him, no Leander signed. However it shocked me that Gerrard decided to leave him out mostly. I suspect it wasn't his signing.

When I asked a Wolves fan at work when he first signed, he mentioned he would do the simple stuff and give the ball to Coutinho to play. Does seem that Wolves are missing that exact element in their game at the moment.

Not really given he signed a month before Kamara got injured. As I've said a number of times, Bournemouth, Palace and to a lesser extent West Ham (and Everton when they made subs) bullied us in midfield by getting big strong guys in there and relying of the physicality to control the game. As a club we pretty clearly saw that we needed someone who could muscle it out in those sort of games and, because we decided to do it late in the window, he was the best option we could get that stood a chance of adapting quickly.

I think I spent most of the summer and fair bit of the end of last season saying we needed someone to add that so I always saw him a good addition to the squad and I was pretty surprised by how negative most of the forum were towards him. I'm really glad he's had a chance to show what he can contribute now and it should mean people give him a lot more credit now.

Both him and Doug were great, but what made their performances so good was the communication between them - they both seem to instinctively know when to go and when to cover each other. Very impressive - we've been desperate for this kind of midfield pairing for a long time.

I think we signed him because we thought Luiz was off, and also because someone finally realised that we don't have enough/any midfielders that are useful when we haven't got the ball. Maybe the idea was to play him alongside Kamara, or if it wasn't then hopefully a new manager with half a brain will do so. Whilst Kamara is injured and Luiz is going nowhere, Luiz plays instead. When Kamara comes back, maybe Luiz can play a bit further forward. Or maybe we just play the 2 out of the 3 that are most in form / compliment each other the most. The thing that Dendonker has over the other two though is height.
