£13m for a 27 year old International midfielder is not bad really.

BELGIAN International.  I know very little about him apart from his performances against us, and I am hoping (like all Villa signings) that he will turn out to be really good and the only reason he's leaving Wolves is he just doesn't fit the system of the new manager.

It does, however, feel like he must have been about fourth choice in our pursuit of midfield reinforcements.  Maybe one day we'll learn who the club REALLY wanted...

He's Leander
He's Leander
He's Leander of the Gang
Woah Yeah!

This will catch on, IMO.

And you know the co-writer of that don't you?

I didn't before I just looked it up. Deleted search history afterwards, to be on the safe.

I didn't mean him, I meant the other bloke.

Start him in a 4-2-3-1 against Citeh and go from there.  I've always liked him when when I've seen him so hopefully we start to play to our squads strengths (heaven forbid).

Strange one that could turn out to be the signing of the summer. Sometimes a team just miss one player to bring the balance, no way would I trust a Dingle to judge a player. All this PL stuff is still new to them.

Weirdly as underwhelming as it is, I agree Rudy. In our current plight, he may well make the difference in the midfield.

Always looked handy against us, a useful addition given our trajectory right now, did somebody mention tall too…

I think he should play tomorrow. I know the argument is normally that this close to a game a player hasn’t had a chance to learn the system or train much with his teammates. But since we tend to look like we don’t have a plan and most of the players operate completely independently of one another it shouldn’t make much difference.

If we were signing him with the same credentials but directly from Belgium for the same price, we'd be delighted.  The fact he has about 3 years premier league experience as well makes it a bit of a no brainer.  Possibly better than Sander Berge who is similar who was also linked with.

If (and this is a massive if) Gerrard deploys him correctly he can help eradicate the huge gaps our full backs leave when they bomb forward. He could be really key.
