This isn't normal getting them in the 3rd round so fecking often.

LC 3rd Round 1992
LC 3rd round 1999
FAC 3rd round 2002
FAC 3rd round 2004
FAC 3rd round 2007
FAC 3rd round 2008
FAC 3rd round 2022
LC 3rd round 2022

I think we actually drew them in the third round of the FA Cup in 2000 as well but they couldn't play because of the World Club Cup thingy. Can anyone verify this?

There's something wrong with the FA Cup third round draw. This is statistically surely a major anomaly and nobody even talks about it.

Why would anyone talk about it? What would they say?

Yeah, okay. Wake up Sheeple.

What a surprise drawn away as usual to one of the top six It has to be rigged Honestly can not remember the last cup match i saw at Villa Park ,was it Leicester in the semi final?

I remember the Leicester semi final at VP quite vividly, sad to say. Tim Flowers conducting the Holte singing "boring, boring, Leicester" is one of several dismal recollections.

Years later, I am sure I sat in the Lower Witton Lane for a cup game against Sheffield United, then managed by Nigel Clough. That was ghastly.

He means the 2020 semi, not the 0-0 2000 one.

They were boring as fuck in 2000 though. Mind you, we weren't much better by then under JG.

2 thoughts.

We normally do ok against them in the League Cup so not too worried on that score.

Message to the Villa ticket office. Take the maximum allocation please.
You saw what happened yesterday against Bolton, we’d sell out at whatever maximum level we’d be entitled to. I don’t care if it’s £50 a ticket, take the fucking allocation. I know at least 5 people who are only members who’d go to this if they could.

Be nice if we ever get a decent allocation for a weekend game. All the workshy toerags who get to go to Bolton and Man U midweek will be ahead of me in the away queue now, too. ☹️

We barely sold out the smaller FAC allocation. If they are twats over the prices again then there's no chance we'll sell the larger allocation.

Man City v Chelsea, somebody's made a cock up.

It was Aldridge and Barnes doing the draw. So not sure cock up is how they'd describe it...

It’s quite a bit of an anomaly, don’t you think? Is there any other like in the same round of a cup? Considering we get the whole “they (insert name) haven’t beaten (insert name) in 50 years” when the two insert name teams have only played each other once in that period, this anomaly just seems to pass people by.

It's because nobody cares who plays who in the third round of a cup. We have no idea whether it's anomalous, because we don't care who other teams play in the third round of a cup.

It's not rigged. It's random. Statistically biased with regards to permutations and combinations, but still random.
Blimey when did Alan Turing join this forum?

Would you like me to make it a little simpler for you? Shit happens.

Disagree, the ticket office bottled it last January.

If the smaller cheaper allocation had flown out i'd maybe agree, but it didn't. So there's no logic that we'd have sold thousands more with all tickets costing more.

It’s statistics. It’s random. It happens.

Just accept it.

Everything else is just crazy Trump “we were cheated” conspiracy talk.

I don't mind playing them but I don't like playing them when the rules for each team aren't the same.

As soon as the draw was made you know that a combination of cowardly officiating and VAR will work in their favour, as we saw on Monday night.
