Why would it be rigged? If 'they' wanted Man Utd to go through, 'they' would draw them against Lincoln. If 'they' wanted us to go through, 'they' would draw us against Lincoln. If 'they' wanted one of us to go out, what the fuck are 'they' thinking?

I think we actually drew them in the third round of the FA Cup in 2000 as well but they couldn't play because of the World Club Cup thingy. Can anyone verify this?

There's something wrong with the FA Cup third round draw. This is statistically surely a major anomaly and nobody even talks about it.

I remember the Leicester semi final at VP quite vividly, sad to say. Tim Flowers conducting the Holte singing "boring, boring, Leicester" is one of several dismal recollections.

Years later, I am sure I sat in the Lower Witton Lane for a cup game against Sheffield United, then managed by Nigel Clough. That was ghastly.

As I recall the lucky losers were the last ball out.  Man United would have been ball 23 or 24, something like that. We wouldn't have drawn them. Man U would have drawn whoever the next top two divisions team in the alphabet (Middlesbrough) got, which was Wrexham away.
