We've got a lot of midfielders at the club. Some of them are even rumoured to be good and yet we can't put a decent midfield out.

We look the most lightweight team in the league.  Midfield is just awful

Good point - can't think of a less imposing midfield.

Let's just put three oak trees in midfield I guess, that'll solve it.

We're hardly pulling up any trees in attack either. Bailey and Watkins combined well for the goal but other than that they may as well not be there for all they've achieved since. Emi B is brilliant though he should have scored.

I don’t remember us getting as easily bullied all over the park in a half before.

Anyone name a player who's improved since Gerrard came in?

Tyrone Mings  ;)

I will say Palace look really, really good though. Loads of verve and not afraid to show off some quality. Eze is superb.

Remarkable he's not hooked Konsa after that first half.

I’ve apparently got to go and cook dinner. Will be reading the match thread in here…

A recipe for confusion.

No changes yet. That’s not good at all.

It will be when they come on for Buendia and Bailey.

Are we safe yet? I think neglected to solve midfield and loaning in an extra-CB will be our Achilles (sorry Diego!) heel this season.

Two absolute priorities before the end of the transfer window.
