Weird to move this off the main page so quick when there’s no post match thread.

Agreed. I woke up and assumed that I'd imagined we were supposed to be playing Leeds in the early hours.

I've put it back.

Watched it on YouTube. Very intense for a friendly so a good introduction for the new boys. Kamara looks class, great range of passing. McGinn really got himself involved after coming on. Promising signs from Leon and Carlos. Ollie a bit rusty, needs another season like his first to keep Ings and Archer at bay. Sanson good in parts but needs to toughen up. Overall some slick play in first half followed by a lot of desire in a scrappy second 45.

A good run out that makes me think we won’t be undercooked like at the start of last season.

Me too. Got a win and no injuries. Result!
Hard to say too much from the highlights but I think the 2 first half moments were more ‘brilliant save’ than ‘bad miss’.

So Emi wasn’t injured then? Some of the comments during the game suggested he might be.

Yes. My error. Force of habit and I was still half asleep.

40,918 and I’d say 60/40 Villa.

I’m watching on Leeds TV, you’d say 60/40 Leeds from this coverage

At the ground i was lucky enough to snare a box on the halfway line and it looked from the stand directly in front like we had far more, you could see it most when we scored. Pleasantly surprised by the overall turnout for both sides tbh.

Just got back. Thought we ran the show without putting them away. Looked very assured at the back and both Bailey and Buendia had strong games. Kamara will need time as he seemed a bit slow to the play at times but saw enough to think he’s going to be an upgrade. Thought Sanson looked good too. The pitch was tacky and a bit bobbly which didn’t help us much. We look a long way in front of Leeds though and our strength off the bench really showed. 2 or 3-0 wouldn’t have flattered us.

McGinn would’ve been sent packing in a PL game so fortunate with that one but the ref was iffy all game on some challenges.

Ming’s is still the go to guy, when it comes to playing out of defense. Be interesting to see whether Carlos will also take on this role, as it’s needed.

Did the same as Percy, thought we looked solid and played well.

Kamara looked just like his YouTube highlights video, pinging the ball all over very nicely.

Marv played well, Carlos looked solid and quick and I thought Olsen had a good game.

Nice to get the win, no injuries and a few completed 90 mins too.

That’ll have the millions of Leeds fans well fired up for the league games.

I watched some extended highlights - very tough to gauge but my overriding impression it was the same as last season - looked narrow and didn’t look like scoring from open play

Thought Leon looked sharp.  Watkins is not the right striker for the way we now play

I think having had a look at social media today, those pricks have now overtaken Wolves fans as the biggest bellends on Twitter.

A bounty on Mcginn's head for a tackle? Fuck off.

It’s good to see Bailey settling in well in pre-season.
