Lovely play by Sanson! Looked like Gazza!
Are you there mate? It’s only a short swim away and all downhill😂

Haha! I was very much up for going, but Japanese university semester doesn't finish until next Friday. Bastards!

Diego is certainly both strong and quick.

Well done Villa. Got hacked to death especially Emi but we gave it back too. Leeds are shit.

Leeds are going to really struggle without Philips and Raphinha. There’s not much quality there.

Was only up in time for the 2nd half, wish I'd saved my £6.

Good save from Olsen, thought Sanson looked decent.  Bad tackle by McGinn on that kid, hope he's OK, he looked pretty distressed.

He only turned 17 in May.

Gerrard obviously rates him really highly.

I wouldn't worry too much, apparently they have £180m/200m to spend this summer. Getting players to go there is another matter.

We played better in the first half though. The second half midfield did not have much joy.

We were aggressive in both halves. Too early to tell if that was simply in response to how Leeds played or whether it's something we can come to expect this season. I hope it's the latter.

Weird to move this off the main page so quick when there’s no post match thread.
Took me a while to work out where to get a sense of how it had gone before I found it.
For a moment I thought there was no sign of this game because something awful had happened and we were never going to speak of it again!

Agreed. They normally get moved straightaway but then a post-match thread replaces it. Seeing as the pre-season threads seem to be all-in-one, could it be moved back mods?
