Say what you like about Trump, he's never spoken out against the round badge.
A few years back when we had Nike, they did a stand alone lion on a polo shirt and it looked quite good. I think that is the way the current trend is going, Spurs cockerel, Liverpool liverbird, West Hams hammers have all been simplified recently.Brighton is a good example of a simple round badge with a distinctive emblem, and just the club name.I can see a few clubs going down the same minimalist route, Crystal Palace, Arsenal, Leicester would all benefit from having their badges/crest simplified.Southamptons has to be the worst.
I don't mind the way Liverpool blend a traditional crest with a modern shirt badge. We could do the same with a nice round crest as the club logo and the stand alone Lion on the shirt. Although that would be a bit like copying their homework.
