When we play Spurs next we should employ a youth player for the last 10 minutes of the game with the sole purpose of removing one of Palinha’s legs  with a crunching tackle. I know it’s not in the spirit of the game but retribution needs to be carried out.

Thug Paulinha has gone back to Bayern after his loan, hasn't he?

Maybe we could get Vinnie Jones in on a one-hour contract to do the bastard in next year's CL final?

Correct and also as France are stacked in CM he'd probably have missed out.

He needs to go to Bayern Saint Enormo Club United to fulfil his potential at international level
I seem to recall that Kamara wasn't called up for a French squad at the end of a season. Then got called up 3 days into his honeymoon, cut short his honeymoon, but sat on the bench & never played a minute. When he called out Deschamps, he was told it was being disrespectful & he's never been called up again.

Obviously he's had a couple of bad injuries & there's some serious competition but you can't tell me the Kante of the last 3 seasons is better than Kamara.

Don't recall him calling out Deschamps, and it would be a bit out of character.

But there is vaguely a bit of history between them, to the extent that when he signed, Deschamps was on record as saying he "didn't understand" the move to Villa, as opposed to one of the habitual CL contenders - at the time, Europe was a distant dream for us.

Despite having been vindicated, you get the feeling that a slight grudge is being held against him. Yes, France have riches in most positions. But I think he should have been getting in ahead of at least one of Kante (now 35), Kone or Rabiot.

(Obviously he's injured, but even prior to that, there was no sense that he was in the ascendancy for a squad place prior to getting crocked.)

He would have been noticed if he was allowed to continue his rich vein of form as we’d have the PL title to go along with the Europa Cup.

Obviously, we'll never know. But he was in cracking form through autumn into winter, yet couldn't get beyond the maybes list for the November internationals. Bearing in mind there was only one international meetup between now and then, in March, he would have been a major wildcard had he got in, which isn't exactly Deschamps' style.

You'd have to conclude that Deschamps doesn't trust him, for one reason or another. Bit of a weird one, really.

Apparently Atletico Madrid backed away from signing him as he wasn't suitably dressed for them when they went to his, and I repeat his house to meet him, maybe it's some stupid shit like that.

He’s had two really big injuries now, so I just hope he comes back the same player. If he does and can last a whole season and we get our couple of additions right, we’ve got a chance at a title tilt, after Martinez, he’s the next nearest to world class we have
