Problem is having such a key player that will average 22 league games a season after 4 years with us. Especially with Onana missing nearly as often.

I think we average over 2pts per game with him and just over 1 without him

Yep. Sadly, when a player who is indispensable is also a player who misses so many games, there's an obvious problem that calls for something other than resorting to temporary sticking plasters.

Couple of weeks old and the other players may have moved around, but:

If any of the above is implying we need to move on from him, that is a terrible, terrible idea. We just need him to stay fit all season, and going off that, we'll win the league. Happy days.

We need another one like him that he can either play alongside or stops the dropoff when he doesn't play.

Annoying to see the thug that took him out score an important goal yesterday when Doherty played him onside.

I really hope we use what he did to Kamara as motivation, channelled in the right way, to pretty much secure Champions League and help send Tottenham down.

I'm not quite sure what that is saying, over and above the point about Kamara being very important to us. There appear to be lots of Arse players in that list ...

I doubt anyone thinks he should be moved on but if your most important player is only averaging 22 league games a season then you need to make sure there isn't a massive drop off in results when he isn't playing.

That kind of player costs a lot of money.  About £50m maybe? Our major problem is that we have two very good players (one who is potentially world class in Kamara) in a specialist position who can’t seem to stay fit for a while season.

Yes. His deputy needs to be reliable, and Onana really isn't.

He was doing well, until Paulinho’s shocking tackle.

It might be controversial, but as much as it was cynical and blatant, it wasn't particularly shocking and it's a bit unfortunate it ended up nailing his season, and claiming it was feels a bit like how they've whined for the last couple of years about a fairly routine trip by Cash on Bentacur.

Having said that, he is a snidey, dirty prick and a later 'tackle' on Rogers was worse and was lucky it didn't do serious damage, I wouldn't be adverse to seeing John turbo-arse him into the Trinity at some point.

Agree - I thought at the time, it’s the sort of tackle that should be a blatant yellow (even though it wasn’t given) but it was unfortunate it ended in the injury it did. My issue is more his style of play and subsequent, continuous, attempts to kick everyone. I think that was why the players were riled up by him.

Either way though, use it as motivation and send them on their way.

I thought Paulino was a disgrace that game.  I thought the tackle was awful - cynical is what Man City do with the rotational fouling - Boubacar was just chopped down.  No point in going on about it - as these things happen.   But it was poorly reffed as he should have been sent off for the persisentness of his hacking at people
