Not really relevant for this thread but the worst one by the ref today was not booking Tonali just after he'd booked Digne for a pretty similar 'one for the team' foul. If anything their one was worse because both fouls were deep in their half.

Had Bouba not been done by Palinha then Joelinton would have made sure today. A thug more than a footballer.

I'm suprised there isn't a knee protector availeable seeing how many are out for such a long time.

Well the referee could offer some protection for a start

How?

By booking players for cynical fouls, regardless of what minute we’re in?

and how does booking him prevent Kamara's injury?

Not that specific ref for that specific foul, but all refs for all fouls worthy of a booking, regardless of the time. Players will be less likely to do it going forward?

It's a pretty obvious deterrent.

i agree completely regarding the "not booking him because it early" crap, but it wont stop it fouls happening, as the sending off for professional fouls etc shows

You mean like being sent off for a professional foul is an obvious  deterrent  which is why no-one commits them anymore?

Headbutts, spitting, flaying elbows, grabbing testacles - all gone.
Going through a player is all that’s left as a way to rough it up when you’re outclassed by the opposition.
