I'm suprised there isn't a knee protector availeable seeing how many are out for such a long time.

Well the referee could offer some protection for a start

How?

By booking players for cynical fouls, regardless of what minute we’re in?

Perhaps we could hear from that official who claimed it was right to "let the game breathe" and how it was justified in seeing a player out for months on end?

Nah. Fucking cowards.

Which may be true, but it was the second bad tackle after the one on Cash by their sh£t winger.

Lads and Lasses the time factor is irrelevant, first minute or last a foul is a foul, it's when the referee doesn't take the appropriate action is when he/she becomes derelict in their duty which we are seeing a lot of recently.

Regarding the scenario happening a referee cannot stop a foul happening if they, the player, decide he/she is going to do it.  With the utmost respect to you all a referee cannot pre-empt things by stopping play because he thinks there's going to be a foul, that's pre-judging thereby compromising his impartiality.  As stated above, it's when inappropriate action or none is taken is when any blame can be laid at the referees door.

A lot of our problems can be attributed to Fergusson when the FA allowed him to dictate who would or wouldn't referee their games, allegedly.  Referees have the power in their hands to deal with the likes of Ben Mee and his ilk but for some reason or other, fear imo, choose not to use it.

and how does booking him prevent Kamara's injury?

The booking of Tel after his challenge on Cash would have made their 6 think twice about the block on Kamara.

If Tel had been booked for the challenge on Cash, Palhinha may have thought twice about cynically blocking Kamara, knowing he couldn't afford to be on a yellow for 85 mins. Instead, he probably thought he could get a free hit in (and he was right).

I tend to agree that we're grasping at straws suggesting the ref's actions could have prevented the injury in some way. Shit happens in a match, in training, in players' personal lives that causes injuries and I'm not a fan of punishing the outcome rather than the original intent.

However, today am I right in thinking Joelinton had a clear yellow not given before the one he got?

Stick it on the pile with all the others.

Joelinton’s fouls on Cash and Onana could have both been bookings.

I was a long way away but I thought the one on Cash was a stone bonker
