Aston Villa vs Norwich City
Sat 30 April
3pm

Big game this, chance to win one of those important games in hand and move up the table a bit for us, and Norwich have to win as otherwise they could be down if other results go against them. Lose and the knives will be really out for Gerrard.

I'm going for a battering, 4-0 Villa.

Relegating Deano at Villa Park will be quite sad.

The Dean factor definitely adds a bit of spice, but this really should be a comfortable win.

Buendia needs to start for so many reasons.

2-1 to Norwich.

They'll just have a little bit too much for us.

It all feels a bit Groundhog Day at the moment in terms of the managers approach, team selection, reaction after the game etc etc but this game is a bit different with Dean Smith coming back. He'll get a great reception, rightfully so but the focus really should be on the fact that, although it might be slightly hysterical to call it a must win, we really could do with the victory. I don't look forward to games at the moment, we're drab, uninspired and struggling for points, I'll be kind and say that this is down to transition. For all the oppositions deficiencies, I think it will continue.

1-1

Two nil villa

Little Phil to get 1 and make the other

We have 4 winnable games between now and the end of the season and hopefully win at least 3 of them means we get into a more respectable finishing place and a bit more positivity to take into a key summer

Welcome home Deano!
This should be a nailed on Villa victory, but then I remember Watford at VP.
1 win at VP in just under 5 months is poor and is not a good look no matter who the manager is. This allied to recent poor performances/results might mean a draw is the best we can hope for.
I'm just hoping the players can rise above tactical/formation/selection restrictions and put on a show for the ever faithful and patient VP crowd.
UTV!

No part of this sentence is valid. None of it.

I'd go with;

Martinez

Cash
Konsa
Mings
Young

Marv
McGinn
Luiz

Buendia
Coutinho

Watkins

A really good chance to win against the worst side in the league and who we usually do very well against. Hopefully breathes a bit of confidence back into the players for a good end to the season.

I suspect Ramsey will start anyway, but he is looking a little jaded for me.

I think given the lack of structure to Norwich's midfield and with Buendia being a roaming pest, they we should find more gaps than usual.

So we haven't had poor performances (except for some unproductive minutes vs spuds) and especially poor results recently?
And the fact that we might end up with a draw or even worst case scenario a loss where only 3 results are possible and the game hasn't yet been played is not valid?
Really?
Okay!

It's entirely possible we could draw the game.  But saying it's the'best we can hope for' is ridiculous.

If we can’t beat these we may as well put the towels on the beach and give up completely.
