Must win and will win.

We have turned a corner now. Think we see another clean sheet, and that we will see some of the chances created actually result in goals.

3-0 to the Villa, Buendia, Coutinho and Ings.

Welcome home Deano!
This should be a nailed on Villa victory, but then I remember Watford at VP.
1 win at VP in just under 5 months is poor and is not a good look no matter who the manager is. This allied to recent poor performances/results might mean a draw is the best we can hope for.
I'm just hoping the players can rise above tactical/formation/selection restrictions and put on a show for the ever faithful and patient VP crowd.
UTV!

No part of this sentence is valid. None of it.

So we haven't had poor performances (except for some unproductive minutes vs spuds) and especially poor results recently?
And the fact that we might end up with a draw or even worst case scenario a loss where only 3 results are possible and the game hasn't yet been played is not valid?
Really?
Okay!
It's entirely possible we could draw the game.  But saying it's the'best we can hope for' is ridiculous.

If you're going to quote me at least quote me correctly. I see you've conveniently overlooked the use of the word "might".
Still that's to be expected.

Whichever way you try to justify it, it's still nonsense.

A relatively comfortable win in the sunshine. Everything will be rosy until next week.

I see this as a chance to get a bit of confidence for the remaining games and to be honest, Smith has gone now and I won’t feel sad if we hammer them or they go down as a result of the game. I’d play Ings rather than Watkins up front  4-0 win to us

If Norwich had a reasonable chance of staying up you just might worry a bit more but really their defence is shocking and there is no incentive for them other than to impress their manager for next season in the Championship.

2-0, nervy start, get the first before half time, a bit of holding on before the second around 80 mins.

Can we recall Conor for this? He loved killing Canaries.

It all feels a bit Groundhog Day at the moment in terms of the managers approach, team selection, reaction after the game etc etc but this game is a bit different with Dean Smith coming back. He'll get a great reception, rightfully so but the focus really should be on the fact that, although it might be slightly hysterical to call it a must win, we really could do with the victory. I don't look forward to games at the moment, we're drab, uninspired and struggling for points, I'll be kind and say that this is down to transition. For all the oppositions deficiencies, I think it will continue.

1-1

Agree.

I'd go with;

Martinez

Cash
Konsa
Mings
Young

Marv
McGinn
Luiz

Buendia
Coutinho

Watkins

A really good chance to win against the worst side in the league and who we usually do very well against. Hopefully breathes a bit of confidence back into the players for a good end to the season.

I suspect Ramsey will start anyway, but he is looking a little jaded for me.

I think given the lack of structure to Norwich's midfield and with Buendia being a roaming pest, they we should find more gaps than usual.

Think your right in that Ramsey will start, especially after signing the new contract. Hopefully might give him a boost.
I think the only change will be Beundia for Bailey…surely this has to happen??
I feel sentimental and will give Deano and a big cheer when he comes out and then i hope we batter his team into oblivion as i’m sure he desperately wants to beat us, such is the nature of football.

We need to win fairly badly for all sorts of reasons, surely Coutinhio should have a field day!

4-0 (Ramsey, Watkins, Beundia, Coutinho)

Notwithstanding the added factor of a former manager wanting a good performance at his old club if we can’t win this then Gerrard should pack it in and find another outlet for his talents.

Hopefully the players will similarly not want to be beaten by their old boss so we’ll see a straightforward forward win.

It 'might' be all we get.  It can never be 'the best we can hope for'

Sounds like great fun, I'd like to keep her company if this is the plan.
