A few people being imo a bit harsh on sjm, he's not playing the same role as under smith, and his workrate when we haven't got the ball is amazing.

He was part of a side that thrashed an inform team and kept a clean sheet. Job well done. I also think he did Coutinho a favour by going after Romeu from the start and putting in a few crunching tackles. Think he got in Romeu’s head and made him concentrate on getting McGinn back rather than focusing on the real threat in our team.

What do you guys do with the youths who stick a high vis on and charge you a £5 to park on the road? Normally we chuck them £5 be done with it, but were there early today before they'd rocked up, then started getting grief off one of them when we were trying to strap a little one in the car seat when we were leaving, so told the scrounging little rat to fuck off.

So probably get a big key mark down the car next time?
This doesn’t happen. No one charges £5 when people park on the road. Tell me which road and I will pass it on the the local councillor.

Vicarage Road, same couple of lads are always there.

That's been going on for decades - I can remember parking in the street the other side of the park back in the 90s and there being kids asking for money to "watch your car mate".

Yeah it has but back in the day they wasn't sticking on Hi-Viz jackets and charging a fiver.
“Looking after your car mister” is a great tradition. I did it myself in the 80’s with my friend but it was for 10p. So I now respect kids who still do it for a £1 but this hi viz jackets and £5 is totally unacceptable. I am going to follow it up.
An Everton friend of mine once told me that when he parked his car on the road near Goodison a lad came up and asked for a fiver to look after his car. My mate said no that’s fine the dogs in the car - he’ll look after it. The lad said can your dog put out fires mate!

Watched it again last night.

The interplay with the front three was great, Coutinho everywhere, asking for the ball and then doing something with it, normally passing the ball and keeping it moving. Nice to see the goals spread around and special mention for Ings, who I thought did really well.

When we play at pace, and keep the ball moving, we're so much better than when it's ponderous, slow build up.

We're not really a possession-based side. Our midfielders (and Matthew Cash) are all too loose with their passing hence our most dangerous moments are quick pieces of interplay. But that means we struggle at times especially against the poorer teams as they defend in numbers and look to use the same methods as us when attacking.

Yeah - this is 100% where we are at.  Thats said, I am hoping SG and his team should be able to sort that out in the mid-term, as I assume Rangers must have had the majority of the possession

Gerrard wants us to be a possession based team so there's lots of work to do. We've probably only done well at this away at Norwich and away at Brentford and some of the best football we've played was the first half at Palace.

I don't park here, but as I walk through this area there are a few youths trying the same thing on around this cluster of roads:

On a similar theme.  A friend of mine who had a friend who was a policeman traveled to a cup game V Everton a few years back.  As this policeman was a policeman he used his position to use the Car park of the local Police station to securely park his car.  He asked one of these street security entrepreneurs where the local nick was.  "Up this road to the lights turn right and you'll smell it from there."

Back to the game, it showed two similarities between Phillipe and Grealish; they both have a superb first touch and the weight that they deliver their passes with is perfect.

That first-half chip-pass to Cash was unbelievable!
