What a difference to be complaining that we didn't score 5 or more.

I think the vital tweak from SG has been to not commit the fullbacks so far forward. This is making a big difference to our shape when out of possession. Congrats to Ollie today, thought he had a great game, I can't remember the last time he dominated in the air !

Watkins was immense today, should have had another but his work rate was off the scale and he bullied his centre back. Lovely creative performance from Phillippe, full of craft and guile. Special mention to Emi who despite not having a great deal to do pulled off a couple of very good saves to keep the clean sheet.

However an all round good team performance with a clean sheet plenty of shots and good shape without the ball.

I’ll hope to write more later, but is Coutinho the key to unlocked Ings and Watkins in the same team?

Great performance on the whole - thought our ball retention went badly awry between 1-0 and 2-0 but ace apart from that. Phil’s a genius and Ash was superb today.

Cash was superb, my MOTM, and Chambers was a very dependable replacement for Konsa.
It’s interesting to see how the little magician is starting to be on the same wavelength as Watkins and other team members. some of the ‘simple’ things he’s does are just brilliant and his link up play is getting better and better.

Sounds like I missed a masterclass from Phil. So pleased for Ollie, sounds like he had a great game too. I have a massive soft spot for him down to his Devon connections.

Well done Villa.

Watkins was back to his old self today.  Was great to see it too.

Rumours that Konsa and Digne both tested positive with Covid?

Great team performance.
Matt Cash my motm, but, in fairness, you could easily pick anyone.

Callum Chambers has put Ezri under pressure for the starting position with that performance.

That’s what BT Sport reported when announcing the teams.

4-0 and we was robbed. 6 or 7 would have been a fair reflection of our display.
