Bizarrely I didn’t think we were that convincing and Southampton had long spells in that game where they were the better team, but when you have players like Phil…….

I must have watched a different game to everyone else because I thought Coutinho was not at the races first half today while Mcginn was great. Enjoyable all round though.

I think you must have :)

I didn't hear any 'we want 5' chants. We seemed quite happy with our lot today when we could have been calling for more.

Wasn't expecting that result against an in-form Saints team. Well done to the players.
Another clean sheet for Emi. A make-shift defence brilliantly marshalled by Tyrone.
Pleased for Luiz getting his goal. Needs to be played further forward to see the best of him. Coutinho brilliant. Watkins and Ings did their jobs and more. I said in the match thread that if both are to be played one or other or both need to be scoring to justify the selection and they both answered that today.
A result to be savoured, then onto the next game! UTV!

Disappointed. Should have been 8!

Similarly disappointed, against Southampton I expect a 9-0 win even with a paltry 39% possession.

A good couple of weeks for our GD. Back to 0 now. Amazing what value clean sheets bring also.

Superb stuff Villa and against a very good team. Phil's probably put a few million onto his price tag after today, what a player.

UP THE VILLA

Great result. I work with plenty of Saints fans. I think it might be quiet on Monday morning. They were all giving it the Billy Bigbollocks yesterday and confidently predicting 3-1 to them. Just off to cook chicken chasseur now. It will taste all the better now. Enjoy your evening lads and lassies, I intend to. All it needs now is for Mrs. VV to be "friendly" later and the day will be complete. I've put her some Prosecco in the fridge to help matters along :) :) :)

Good luck, but if she's anything like mine she'll bank the prosecco and you'll get fuck all.
