Unbelievable really that PC hasn't scored yet.

We should be 5-0 up. Not even exaggerating. We've missed three excellent chances.

For the second goal what a superb ball by Chambers. Outside of his foot perfectly lifted over the defence

Easily our best home half of the season. So often we start Sat 3pms at VP at snail pace, not today.

Southampton may not be full of world class players but they play well in a system and are one of the current form teams in the league in 2022 and we've made them look very average.

And we will finish above them.

Agree TV, what a great pass.  Made it look so easy.

We have to remember, you get no points awarded at half time and more of the same in the second half is required.

fantastic half, only marred slightly by some dodgy finishing. We should be home and hosed.

There's been a couple of saves from Forster that were superb to be fair, we'd be purring if Emi had made them so credit where it's due.

Great half by us. Now I wonder what changes Hasenhüttl have in mind because they have been firmly second best but for a 5-minute period.

Great half from Villa.  Saints having plenty of the ball but we look dangerous on the break and Coutinho finds these little pockets that they cannot track.  He's having a great time out there.

Needs to change his boots at half time.

We cannot let up now. We are still a bit too sloppy for me in the middle and they pose a threat when they come forward. Go at them, get that 3rd and we can relax a little. The first 15 will be critical now. But we have been superb going forward. Need to take full advantage of that.

Phil could have had three. Watching him orchestrate is delightful. I don't even think we've been that great (particularly the middle of the half where we were getting sloppy), but it could be 5-6 by now. One aspect about Dougs goal, great ball from Calum but it's the timing of the run from Phil. How many VAR decisions go against us because the timing wasn't quite there from the run? No danger with Phil, he was comfortably on, no chance for VAR to dig out an offside. That brain is immense.

We don't want to be ruing these missed chances either, so lets get another and put it to bed.

I thought Southampton played well to be honest but we now have a bit of quality that can change games and their defence couldn’t cope. Real shame Phil didn’t bury that last one as I couldn’t see them coming back from that but now if they get one we will wobble
