Have to say, Ings has worked really hard for the team so far today too.

We cannot let up now. We are still a bit too sloppy for me in the middle and they pose a threat when they come forward. Go at them, get that 3rd and we can relax a little. The first 15 will be critical now. But we have been superb going forward. Need to take full advantage of that.

Yep worry is we'll come out flat start of second thinking it's won, they'll scramble a goal and we'll go back to panic stations.

Hopefully Gerrard can put on Sanson early second. Also think this will be good game for Bailey to make an impact with space we're getting in final third.

Much better from us, some decent passing and forward play. So good to see us creating chances again.

Great half by us. Now I wonder what changes Hasenhüttl have in mind because they have been firmly second best but for a 5-minute period.

They'll put on Walkers Peters for sure if he can manage a half, been weak at full back with Ollie skinning their RB just before the second goal.

Beyond that just Walcott and Redmond I guess to add some more pace out wide particularly if Young tires.

Big fan of Broja upfront for them but Mings handled him with ease so far.

My worry is if Southampton start trying to draw fouls around the box. To be honest I'm surprised they've not played a bit tighter and draw us closer, because we're always liable to give something away with McGinn, Mings and Ramsey occasionally a bit too aggressive.

Nosebleed territory.  What's he doing that far up the pitch?

I just read the last time we beat these at home was August 2004 when Carlton Cole scored. Unbelievable.  Just shows how we declined - a few wins away but nothing at home.

Good first half - hopefully Ramsey and McGinn can get more in the game the second half.

Cole was unplayable that day. One of the best debuts I've ever seen.

Was always an easy 6 points a season for most of the 90s even with Le Tiss around. Think we won four straight seasons at the Dell with Townsend scoring the winner in a couple of those seasons.

Hold your horses, VAR are still trying to think of a reason to rule it out! ;)
