Robin Olsen second choice keeper Swedish International, he doesn’t appear to be an adequate replacement for Emi Martinez, this appears to have been the case for some time. We can only assume we can’t get a better keeper to play this roll is it because EMI is undropable re contract stipulations.  It’s the only possible explanation for this situation as rediculas as it sounds!

I don’t think any of the 3 goals can be pinned on Olsen.

He’s adequate but we lose the ability to play from the back when he’s there. He lacks the ability and confidence in possession of Emi and it impacts how we play massively.

I'm not a particular fan of Olsen, but I honestly do think that the criticism of him is over the top, when considered in the context of Martinez's efforts this season.  And as regards Martinez's critical part in our ability to play out from the back, again I'm afraid I've not really been seeing either, for too long now; slow, slow, going nowhere, by and large.

He couldn't be blamed for us losing last night, but does have a catalogue of ricks that make me nervous.  Maybe if Gerrard get the Rangers job back in the summer he can take him back there.

Olsen's presence unnerves the whole backline , plus the fans . Commentators and opposition fans also smell blood whenever he comes on and they usually aren't wrong . He needs moving on.

The difference is, Emi does provide a significant number of excellent, game salvaging saves for us along with the occasional ricket.

I'm trying to think of Olsen glory moments and all I have is that save at the edge of the box when Cole Palmer was one on one last season. And that's it.

The only time he had a good game was at Brighton last year where he saved a penalty and it still ended up in the net, the fucking Jonah.

He really is a jonah, even when he doesn't do anything wrong we concede loads. His goals conceded per actual minutes on the pitch must be awful in the league for us.
