Definitely. Initially having back to back games against them would not be favourable. But after tonight, it's the best possible thing that can happen. They won't want to come to VP.

The final sentence is damning and totally true. I'm looking forward to a raucous fired up Villa Park on Saturday and a team that's fired up and gagging to put these serial cheats to the sword. Word of warning though the officials will be aware of this and will no doubt protect their players to the hilt. We need to be wary of early bookings because players like Bruno will be in full cheat mode and will be looking to influence the ref from the off.

I'm just upset we probably won't get another punt at Lindelöf. Man alive he's crap. The days of Man U having 2 or 3 quality defenders in reserve  are well gone

The referee was looking directly at the collision and waved it away, only when VAR told him to review it did he have a change of mind, VAR is ruining the game.

Sad but True.
I am starting to wonder, what is the point?

I can’t process the fact that 3 minute VAR checks are perhaps put in place so Asia can go to commercial breaks. It’s likely true as well. I’m starting to convince myself VAR is being utilised to prevent City running away with it. Liverpool about to drop to points? Go on Mo, dive and get a pen. We can’t have the league dead by early March can we.

First time i disagree with your analysis Dave, i presume the result and disappointment has clouded your judgement but i thought we were magnificent. No way was there a case for either team to be the better side, Villa were by far the better side over the ninety minutes.
I agree about Watkins and Ings together but thought last night was both their best performances playing along side each other.

I'd like to think so but then it's not in our hands is it? That's the point.

The referee was looking directly at the collision and waved it away, only when VAR told him to review it did he have a change of mind, VAR is ruining the game.

As mentioned, those type of coming together, either deliberately or accidently happen at every freekick and corner. Now suddenly it is a clear (well once VAR google search told them) foul.

I reckon a review of multiple other goals given this season by VAR would show the same incidents being ignored (and probably worse like West Hams goal this weekend where a player can jump in front of the goalie whilst in an offside position and be adjudged to not interfere.)
